Pregnancy Questions and Answers

Question:
How safe is it for me to take a bath during pregnancy?
Answer:
Most healthcare providers believe it is safe to bathe during pregnancy. The only precaution is to be careful to avoid slipping and falling as you get in or out of the tub. There is no medical reason to choose showering over bathing during pregnancy. In the last few weeks of pregnancy, as you get bigger, you must be careful about slipping in the shower or the tub. If you think your water has broken (ruptured membranes), your doctor may recommend that you not bathe.
