10 Weeks Pregnant

Future mom

High concentration of hormones influences your mood and well-being. Cases of hypererethism or nervousness and mood swings are observed during this period. Physically you start to gain weight, gums become loose and the thyroid gland increases a little. Your waist slowly disappears. Do not forget to measure your waist and a stomach now.

Your baby

The 10th week is sort of a starting point for your child. The main parameters of body have already been incorporated, and within the next six and a half months, cells like bricks will bring its construction to finish. Your child becomes more and more like himself. Fingers are already separated; taste buds and tooth rudiments grow out. The little tail does not exist any more (it disappears this week), the brain continues to develop actually at a phenomenal rate; quarter of a million new neurons are produced every minute. The embryo’s heart has formed also.
Although external genitals cannot be determined yet, but if he is a boy, then his testicles start to produce testosterone, a male hormone which will transform him to an excellent boy. If by the 10th week nothing is wrong with the embryo, then it won’t be threatened any more by congenital anomalies.
Hands, legs, fingers, knees are already present but in miniature forms. Your child will be sucking his thumb soon. He is already moving, but automatically. His eyes are shut and this will continue until the 25-27th week. The ear shells and the top lips have been formed.

Embryo length and weight

Length from crown to sacrum approximately 1, 3780 inches.
Weight - about 0, 1411 oz.
