Future mom

You suspicion about your pregnancy at earlier stages can only be proved by blood analysis. The fertilized egg releases a particular chorionic hormone, the chorionic gonadrotopin which exists in your blood. You can do a home test on CG but the latter is not that reliable because the usage time is too short.
While you are guessing whether your menstruation comes or not, symptoms that remind the pre menstrual conditions like nausea, swellings of breasts may appear to you. You are probably starting to feel tired and exhausted, urinating more often and having mood swings. The first trimester is a critical period for the formation of your baby.

Your baby

The fertilized egg will be turning to an embryo this week. Three layers of membranes start to form that mark the beginning of formation of various tissues and organs. The internal layer endoderm is responsible for formation of lungs, liver, digestive system and pancreas. The skeleton, muscular system, kidneys, blood vessels and heart are made by the second layer mesoderm. The external layer ectoderm forms the skin, hair, eye crystals, tooth enamel and nervous system. Then cells from each of the layers take their places. Then the head of the embryo which looks gentle as a drop or tear is formed. On a transvaginal ultrasound exam tt can be seen how the fertilized egg and yellow body nourishes your baby until the placenta is fully functional to take the role of feeding and protecting the baby.
